Wanted all the money up front and did not complete the job! Told us he ordered materials with our money and will not give it to us to at least have a third party finish the job. Spoke to the police today filing charges in the morning for theft of property and stealing our money. Charged us double for countertop boards and tried to charge us more for cabinets that were cheaper at Lowe's in the initial invoice. Told us he got a discount at lowes but then ordered the exact same cabinets at higher price. Cops recommended a lawyer to file charges because of the amount of money stolen. Pure scam and unprofessional. Spoke to someone today that recently sued the the company...read full review
DO NOT GIVE HIM MONEY Wanted money upfront and would not respond in a timely manner. Once he recieved our money he did not attempt to put us first and admitted to being at one job while not finishing ours. It had been a month and we had to rely on his short messages with zero clarification on details. Up charged us on cabinets, so i got my own then charged us double for materials that we haven't seen, never ordered the materials and strung us along to pay for other lawsuits maybe (public record do you research please. Do not trust the company it's similar to a ponzi scheme, taking peoples money to pay other things which we learned today is illegal. Rockingham county sherrifs office advised us what to do and doing so this week after comiling the evidence, documentation text messages etc. Hire workers are not allowed to keep property in their possession esp after given opportunities to return items with zero response. Kept all materials left holes in the wall etc. People do your research its public information and we got ripped off. He does not respond to texts and will have an excuse every time. Told me it would be a easy simple job its been over a month. He is not credible and his work is shotty. He is only trying to get money from you and will not finish. He will lead you on with kindness do not fall for it. He has no idea how the business world works you can google his name or public records and see for yourself. He will not show up when he says he will, you will most certainly lose a day of work and he will charge for hours and not really do anything, its almost comical and childish. He will make excused like a child and lie, he thinks his problems are the customers and wants sympathy like a child. When I say its bad its bad. He will show up and not measure anything, bring the wrong materials and act like he knows what hes doing. It pretty funny now to look back but we will get our money back getting a lawyer and paying him 125 a hour to pursue charges. All we asked for was a refund and the materials and a crime has been committed according to the sheriffs office. We are paying to do it the right way because now we have to pay double for someone to finish. He doesnt know what he's doing the work is bad!!! Like bad!!
TLDR; Awful experience. Unreliable and unskilled in carpentry. If you decide to risk it, DO NOT pay a deposit before the job.\nI hired Ty to remove a porch pillar, reconstruct it with new wood, and fortify the brick and concrete foundation below the pillar. He was two days late for the job, and then didn't do at all what was planned. He removed and reconstructed a different pillar that I had clearly said was redundant and unneeded. He left the job site without saying a word, and then called me to tell me he was finished for the day and would be returning the following morning to finish fortifying the concrete.\nI could tell the work was unstable and poorly done. My dad (an experienced handyman of 40+ years) said a carpenter would laugh at this job. Ty used small pieces of wood to construct the pillar, and multiple pieces were split by the nails he used. The worst part was that he built an unstable and unnecessary pillar that I now have to demolish. He then failed to show up the next day or respond to my texts and emails.\nEventually he gave me a call, and boy did he unload excuses, blames, and lies. He said the pillar that he built is required by the city because it's weight-bearing, yet the pillar was so poorly constructed that it isn't even touching the beam that it's supposed to be bearing the weight of. He said he used small pieces of wood to construct the pillar because he wanted to match the construction style of the house, and that's just how old houses are built. He finished by saying that any other contractor would condemn our house, which is laughable because we purchased it six months ago and had an inspector, appraiser, home insurance liaison, and multiple realtors rave about its condition.\n38 days ago he said he'd refund us for everything but his time and materials, and he'd pick up the materials he left. We haven't received a refund, his materials are still on our property, and I'm now disputing the full $250 charge with my credit card company.
