“I really did like this place and the staff, but my overall gel manicure was just not the best. I wasn’t really super satisfied with how my cuticles and gel just looked overall. My cuticles still look like they haven’t been touched; like they haven’t been cleaned, pushed back, and clipped. I got it done yesterday and my cuticles still look just awful. It looks like I haven’t gotten them done in weeks when I had just gotten them done yesterday. Brittney did my nails and while I absolutely love her as a person, and the staff, I’m just not super happy with my nails and it makes me quite sad considering it was $50. Regardless, the place is very nice, clean, and organized which I liked, I just wish the manicure had been done better.5/16 UPDATEBrittney the owner reached out to me and inquired about my previous visit and offered a redo to make up for my last service. I had a different technician this time (I didn't get her name unfortunately) but she was amazing. Super detail oriented and took the time to ensure my cuticles and nails looked exactly the way I wanted it to. She explained everything to me prior to doing it. She gave me advice on nail care and options that would best fit me and my lifestyle. Furthermore, and I cannot stress this enough, the salon is incredibly clean and sanitary. Each station has their own manicure kit that includes the cuticle pusher, clips, etc. and each technician wears gloves. They have a ton of different colors to choose from and I went with a beautiful, glittery sage green color. It is a bit pricier than other salons, but you truly are paying for the cleanliness, organization, and in support of a small business. I will visit again; in fact, I already scheduled my next appointment with the same technician I had today.To make a long story short, the place is absolutely lovely. As someone who greatly appreciates utmost hygiene and organization, this nail salon is probably the best on that account that I have ever seen, which is one of the main reasons why I will be returning. The staff are super friendly and the place itself is just incredibly cute. I will recommend this place further to family and friends.“

“Higher Ground Hair is the best salon in Roanoke. The salon is clean and always smells good. The stylists are welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. And the stylists do a great job on many types of hair. My mom, myself, my dad and my son all go there and they treat us all with kindness respect and compassion. This is a top notch salon and I highly recommend it!“

“I love Five Diamond Nails! I have had Lisa, Emily & Tonya provide me with manicures, pedicures, gel nails, dip, hard gel and eye brow waxing, all are exceptional & provide what YOU request! They're located near the end of a plaza, next to a Food Lion, Dollar General, a vape/tobacco shop, Papa John's & a Chinese restaurant so it really serves as a 1 stop shop for me. The salon takes reservations only so walk-in service is not recommended since they are not available to accept them most of the time. This makes them an extremely special salon in that regard because they won't take a walk in & chance not being available at the start of someone's reserved appointment. That alone in the industry is phenomenal! The salon itself is beautiful, always clean, layed out very well for the services & amenities offered and includes a restroom for client use only. Next time you need a skilled & professional cosmetic job, go check them out.“

“I had a bad set done by a different salon and was devastated. They removed them and treated my nails with such care. I sadly couldn’t get a new set as my natural nails were so damaged from the prior salon. But they were so empathetic and sweet! They did my best friends set and they turned out AMAZING!! “I was on a long road trip and blew a tire on the highway nearby. I brought my car to Thompson tires across the street and was very happy to see tlc nails across nearby. Instead of sitting in the tire store I walked over and they had an immediate opening for me and took great care of me. They also invited me to stay after my pedicure to relax in their salon while I waited for my car. She did a great job on my pedicure and I was so grateful for how tlc nails turned an inconvenience in a long day into a rejuvenating reprieve.“
