I've been to many places to get my hair done, but I can honestly say that when I go to Agape', it's almost like visiting my sisters or home-girls! The conversation flows easily, and is always about real stuff: news, family, relationships, vacations, weight issues, etc. all the things women are concerned with! Natalie (my stylist) is the absolute best! She does my hair, my mother's and my daughter's! Great atmosphere! Love it!
I've been seeing the same stylist for close to 10 years. She's always been in her own shop so I have been spoiled by her 1on 1 service and no drama salon atmosphere. But she's in Charlotte NC AND I'm here in Hampton Roads and the drive has definitely begun to take a toll on me. So I stopped a young lady one day with an awesome head of happy healthy hair. She pointed me to Agape and spoke of her stylist with the deep affection I speak of mine. This is my 3rd visit to the salon. My appointments always begin on time. The salon is never overcrowded. There aren't random vendors walking through selling all kinds of do-dads. And the stylists and their clients are friendly. We're still building a relationship but I like where we're headed. I am accustomed to a lot of Dudley retail to take home to maintain my hair between the long visits. Here, there hasn't been a push to sell at home products. But I can also come in here a lot more easily and may not need to buy into products as much. I'm also accustomed to a recap of what state my hair is in and where we're taking it. Here, that discussion is a little more nuanced and I have to ask the right questions to get us both on message. I still have nervous butterflies when I'm turned to the mirror but that in itself is pretty exciting.
