“Excellent school & staff! Great culture for young children to learn discipline through fun, rewarding activities!“
“So happy to have found One Take Studios! My daughter started here for the after school program as she started kindergarten, she does dance and martial arts program. She has learned so much in such a short time and has so much passion for both martial arts and dance. I give it up to Ms Neilah and Mr Robert they are both amazing with what they do for these kids I can genuinely see the light and joy they bring to all of the students it's a great vibe always. I'm excited to watch my daughter continue on this journey with the One Take fam . We appreciate you! Thank you!“
“We have been with Kicks Karate for three years now. We love the spirit of the team there, supporting every child in the best possible way. It has been a lifeline for our kid in Pandemic times!“
“I highly recommend this Shaolin Kung Fu School. Shifu Chris and Weiwei have created a welcoming environment for all. They helped me feel comfortable and keep up with my goal of being strong, fit and confident training with others much younger than me. Check them out - you won’t regret it!“
“This studio is such a find! We tried another martial arts program in the area and found it so impersonal and robotic. Coach Dante, Coach Antonio, and the rest of the staff go above and beyond with their students, building their confidence and encouraging them to push themselves. They also make sure the kids still have fun. This is the first sports program our son is excited to attend every week and it's been awesome to watch him participate. The studio itself was a little hard to track down with Google maps but it's worth seeking out.“
“Great place to get your kids trained in self defense. Fees is very reasonable and Marion is a very good Sensei“
“Outstanding school. Been studying the martial arts from across the world my whole life and I consider this place a rare gem. Besides their Krav courses, I highly recommend their Saturday Shuai Jiao class. Most people can't handle sticking with Shuai Jiao over the long-term, but if you are one of the few, there are legit fighting skills to be earned in this rare art that is hyper-focused on throwing.“
“Master Sunny is the best! She is so patient and talented. My girls have been in their after school sessions for years...“
“superb care, supervision and thought from the incredible instructor. great ambiance and attitude created by the dedicated instructors. highly recommend.“
“tkd is a korean marial art. the master is an authentic korean tkd instructor. he is great with kids. a good balance of discipline and compassion. has a history of top students in tournaments. a great place to get real korean tkd instruction.“
“I'm going to have to take a star off of this modified review. What I liked about this place especially is that the instructors care and want you to excel in what they're teaching you. They will especially drill you in doing the safety rolls correctly for the sake of your own safety. While I cannot comment on the kenjutsu portion of the curriculum, since I never took it, I do believe that the Aikijutsu portion is very effective. You will learn how to especially counter wrist grabs, which is honestly an absolute asset for those who carry, and how to throw and to pin in ways not seen in Judo or Aikido, sportified or watered down arts derived from battlefield jujutsu arts.I took a star off because I felt bowing to the shinza (a Shinto kamidana shrine without the ofuda) was wrong and offensive to my religious faith, despite the dojo saying doing so wasn't religious.I also took some issue with the dojo etiquette. I felt it asked me to go beyond the call of duty of respect and courtesy to my instructors and classmates. I respect the sensei of the dojo especially for his skill and expertise. He was proof that learning Aikijutsu would be worth my while.I'm sorry to go.“
“I’ve trained at this academy back in 2005 and they have a solid Wushu experience, to include cultural exchanges in China.“
“Amazing at teaching you self-defense, and I am myself is a student They have an amazing helpers, and all of them are kind and also they're good at understanding you“
“This is the best TKD academy in NOVA! Six years ago my son wasn’t sure about taking TKD classes. Master Adam is so patient and encouraging and such a wonderful role model and mentor that my son is now just a few months from his black belt and enjoys working at the Academy teaching younger kids. I am so thankful for my son’s experience of learning from and working for Master Adam.“
“We have tried a lot of activities, but nothing ever seem to stick. That is until we started taekwondo. Master Holder is wonderful with the kids, so motivating! My girls love to go to class and have gone from one day a week to three days a week. They just got there yellow belt and the pride on their faces passing the test was wonderful to see. ! They get a great workout and I can see the difference in their energy and stamina. Couldn't be more excited!“
“I feel like I am going to see my family and have fun every time when I take myself and my children for Karate class. I miss the TKA family badly as I am not registered for the last two sessions for being busy with school. I can’t wait to restart next Spring. I just registered my two children, one who has blue belt and the other one has a green belt. I have green belt as well.“
“Sifu Brad provides an excellent training environment. During COVID, his online classes are intense, and I feel like I get the most possible out of training, even while training virtually. I can't wait until classes return to in person.“
“They recently changed management of the place, but I found the new instructors to be even more passionate and focused on passing down the craft of karate to the new generation. It may seem like they teach Tang Soo Do, a Korean martial art, but they do teach Karate, though with a Korean perspective. It's not surprising that there are commonalities between the 3 arts because Karate and Tan So Do (and many more martial arts) are heavily influenced by Chinese martial arts, so there's a common lineage either way.“
“My family has attended Focus Family Martial Arts Academy for one and a half years. We enjoy going to class and earning our belts together. The instructors are encouraging and truly care about each member of our family. I also appreciate the focus on character and leadership. They provide positive reenforcement for the values we are teaching at home. Their STORM (Special Team of Role Models) program has helped my children develop leadership skills and gain confidence. Overall this is a top notch and well rounded Karate academy.“
“Taekwondo World Championship has been a fantastic addition for the past 6 years to our weekly enrichment program at JollyPlace Montessori School . Master Andy has been an incredible instructor and such a qualified instructor of 2nd Degree Black Belt, challenging our young learners at every step. His dedication and expertise have greatly benefited our students, fostering discipline and confidence. We are grateful for the positive impact on our school community!“
“Love Kicks Karate North Potomac! They have a great staff and work really well with the kids“
“HK Lee emphasizes character over "winning," mastering curriculum over social promotion. Lots of adult students, with instructors who understand that adults learn differently than children. Classes are taught by 4th degree black belts or higher, often with several 4th degree or higher black belts assisting.“
“Mr Andrew and the other instructors are amazing. It feels like a small community. It has taught my children confidence and self reliance.“
