I am extremely disappointed with the level of care provided by PM pediatrics in Fairfax regarding my son's recent illness. Despite expressing concerns about his symptoms and specifically requesting a chest X-ray, which I believed was crucial for a comprehensive diagnosis, my requests were blatantly disregarded by Asma Akhtar, MD. She reported that his "lungs were clear". Even though my son had high fevers for the past couple of days up to 105 and had nonstop coughing throughout our visit there. My son's condition worsened last night, and it wasn't until we sought emergency care at Fairfax ER that he was properly diagnosed with pneumonia. The negligence and incompetence displayed by Asma Akhtar resulted in unnecessary suffering for my son and undue stress for our entire family. Medical professionals should prioritize family's concerns and thoroughly investigate symptoms, especially when a serious condition like pneumonia is suspected. The fact that my requests for diagnostic testing were denied is utterly unacceptable and reflects poorly on the professionalism and competence of this practice. I strongly advise others to think twice before seeking urgent care here as their failure to accurately diagnose my son's condition could have had dire consequences.

Came here at 11-49 when they close at midnight with our son who has a cough, fever, can't sleep and pulling on his ears in pain and they refused to see him as they close at midnight... we came 11 mins before closing and they still won't see us... why have a midnight closing if you won't see people before then. So frustrating they obviously don't care about your children's health.

I'm only giving it two stars because the nurse and receptionist were both really friendly and sweet. We didn't make an appt on a Friday evening but was lucky enough to be seen quickly. Brought our five month old in. I left a negative review because of Dr.Ghuman, I've seen her before at the Springfield location for PM pediatrics with my one year old.. but came to the Fairfax one to specifically avoid her. My luck. She isn't really that great with children, too serious, she seems like she is miserable having to work with kids.. she was kind of rough with our five month old, my five month old doesn't even have "stranger danger" yet and cried, when she was moving her around. She usually goes to everyone. When I brought my one year old at the Springfield location, she was terrified, screaming/crying and the doctor looked so annoyed.. looking at me to shut her up.. of course a toddler doesn't know what's going on and its a normal reaction? The nurse there understood that too. Anything I brought up. She just went straight to say, ask your pediatrician. Had to ask a lot of follow up questions. I understand there is certain things a urgent care provider, they can't do. She didn't seem that caring, when it comes to a concerned parent. Also why work with kids if you don't know how to or like to communicate with them??

From PM Pediatric Urgent Care

PM Pediatric Care came to life in 2005, when Dr. Jeffrey Schor and Steven Katz — college roommates who went on to pursue careers in medicine and business — wanted to create an alternative to the emergency department and a friendly environment designed exclusively for children and young adults. Since then, PM Pediatric Care has expanded across the country with the mission to improve healthcare access, quality, and service. To date, we have seen over 4 million patients, treating everything from asthma attacks to sports injuries.
