I was referred by my ophthalmologist to Capitol Eye C. for cataracts in both eyes.The staff was excellent-courteous, efficient and knowledgeable. Dr. Mattern and staff arranged all surgery at the Fairfax Surgical Center in Fairfax,Va. .Dr Baldinger was the surgeon and one of the best in the country, I understand., I would give more stars but 5 is the Maximum. Stop waiting to see better! Like many of my friends, I hate driving at night and struggled to read menus and small print. I thought it was something that you just put up with at this stage of life. It’s NOT. There is no reason to live that way, I found. Just had two cataract surgeries and my WORLD has changed. Each procedure takes less than 30 minutes (one eye at a time) but several comprehensive examinations before (and less so) after. With around 40 patients a day through the team, there isn’t anything Dr. Baldinger hasn’t seen. I see better now than I have ever — started wearing bifocals in third grade. I have accompanied both of my senior parents to CEC over the past year for their Macular Degeneration. The one who has wet was diagnosed 7 months ago and Dr. Gauthier's injections have reversed the MD. The one who has dry however is very advanced MD, and therefore is not much they can do, and was even referred by Dr Crossan to the NIH. BOTH doctors have a wonderful warm bedside manner. All staff are helpful and kind.
