“I absolutely love my stylist. she listens to what I want and does great haircut (what I am after). I do not come often but try to keep her happy with a $25 tip. Now about that. There is a new #service# kinda the salon is trying to provide - the girl (what she is there for I do not know) washes your hair before the haircut. Nothing special at all. However, at the reception desk I had a far too long conversation about the tip for that girl.... at the reception desk - Do you want to leave a tip for the girl who washed your hair? - No. - Maybe, you could split the tip for the stylist? - No. I felt uncomfortable, if I say "no" , at my 50s, I have made my decision and do not want to pay for the hair washing (was nothing special, mediocre). If I was really impressed - that could be in case of very good scalp massage, very pleasant, good fragrant products (natural and if I was explained what exactly these products are and how they are natural and good for my hair), in calm and nice environment (which Salon Khouri is not, it is crowded and noisy), then I might pay a bit more. But asking for the tip for the below mediocre service of washing my hair (which is always just part of the whole process), that is something new. 4 stars just for the stylist that I go to. If she moves somewhere I will move with her. The salon is noisy, you do not feel relaxed or welcome. The chairs and especially the bench in the waiting area are not comfortable.“

I had been going to the same person for waxing for years and when I stopped going to that person, I stopped getting waxed, because I was super nervous about finding a new place and person to trust for Brazilians after years of mixed experiences prior to finding someone to go to consistently. EWC as a business was not a great experience, pushy, salesy, but not atypical of that type of place. But the esthetician Carolina was awesome! FAST (in a great way!), thorough, and confident. I felt like she knew what she was doing which is important in a Brazilian! My first service was a year ago and when I was ready for another appointment I looked her up to book!“

“i made an appointment since they were near my job and noticed this salon specializes in gel x. i've been dying to get gel x for a while and this is the spot to go to! darlene was super sweet and very accommodating, she's also very precise and knowledgeable about her work. but don't get it twisted, it's not a regular nail spa... they also offer variety of snacks and drinks from mimosas to matcha. not to mention about over 3,000 nail colors to choose from. everything about this salon was the highlight of my day, great energy and great service! i will definitely come back, you HAVE to get your nails done here “

“I was looking for a nail salon in this particular area....because I may or may not have needed an excuse to hit up insomnia cookies right after. this nail salon is located right next to insomnia cookies across the street from GMU.<br><br>we arrived a little late - I made sure to call ahead to let them know. Tina was very accommodating. they had us pick out our colors for our pedicure & my daughter got to pick out two colors for her manicure. I believe it was Helen that worked on my daughters nails & she was very gentle with my daughter. she double checked to make sure she was comfortable & even brought out an extra cushion to help her relax in the pedicure chair. I really appreciated that since she can't actually lean back into the chair.<br><br>Tina did my pedicure & Gel-X set. she noticed my heels were looking a bit rough & she stood up....and freaking polished the hell out of my heel. my heels are so incredibly soft now, it's not even funny! once the pedicure was complete, she took me to her station to do my gel-x set. she let me pick out the colors I wanted from the design picture I sent her. whenever I had any issues with the manicure, she would stop & fix it so I would be happy. her attention to detail was phenomenal. she free handed the little vines and leaves I wanted on my nail perfectly. my only issue was that her spray paint gun wasn't working so she had to do my ombre by hand. this wasn't even her fault, but the white powder she mixed into the white nail polish was a bit clumpy. she did her best to get rid of them, but it's still a bit noticeable.<br><br>Tina did such a fantastic job, I truly appreciate her taking her time to get it right & to make sure I was happy with my manicure.“
