I am a first time pet owner who wanted to find a good vet to care for my 8-week old puppy and to educate me on proper puppy care and development. I am so glad that I chose ODAH! The doctors, techs, and front office staff at the Preston Avenue location are wonderful, and I have never had a problem getting an appointment. Whenever I call for an emergency, they get me in on the same day. Routine visits can be scheduled within a week, sometimes even sooner. My dog HATES the vet but Old Dominion does a wonderful job accommodating. Get established here because once you do they are quick to make a sick visit when needed. My dog Buffy (pictured) recently got an eye infection and was really scared. They were patient and calm during the exam and even let me help to relax her. The medication worked well and the total cost of the visit including meds was $140. Of course all vet bills will be expensive but they will be understanding. They ran an unnecessary test once that was costly and when I complained they took it right off the bill. Great practice. We are new to the area. My yorkie had a skin infection and where we had taken her for her checkup in Nellysford said they were booked and would not work her in. I looked up veterinarians in the area and decided to call Old Dominion. I was received by a friendly compassionate receptionist. She scheduled us with Dr Pocock who was very compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. We never felt rushed and she treated Katie and she started feeling better almost immediately. We have always had wonderful care with Wellsley in Richmond since Katy was a puppy.
