My friend and I had a lovely time visiting Eupepsia. The chef is amazing—I never knew how good vegetarian food could be. I thought I would mention three things for visitors to know about since I don’t see much written about this in other reviews. First, you can’t flush used toilet paper because they are on a septic system. This took some getting used to and sometimes you could smell the used toilet paper in the public bathrooms. (Using the bathroom in your own room/using a bidet can help.) Secondly, meals are on a sort of European timing—you might have breakfast at 8 but lunch at 2 and dinner at 7:30. There is fruit you can eat between meals, but people who had visited before told us they packed snacks to have in the room. I think it would be wise to bring some bags of almonds or Kind bars if you think you will need them. On our first day, one of the guests said, “How can this not show up in the reviews? Googling Eupepsia: Hungry!” The food really is phenomenal and its a great place to wean yourself from sugar, but I still recommend snacks! Finally, when people describe sitting around the pool, they aren’t talking about a full-sized outdoor pool where you could float on a raft. The outdoor pool is a small exercise pool for one person. This is more of a health spa than a vacation-type spa. It’s great for what it is and does, but if you are looking for pina coladas by the pool, this is not that.
