Aikido of Arlington Martial Arts Schools

“In a metro area rich with martial arts dojo, this is in the top tier. Teacher has multiple decades of experience, and the advanced ranks in the school warmly welcome beginners, who get direct personalized instruction. Classes start with stretching and mobility drills, cover basic and advanced techniques, and the students' skills and challenges grow appropriately over time. You'll probably learn something new every single class and improve mobility, flexibility, and conditioning along the way. Style is "traditional" aikido (Iwama) and includes weapons instruction. Approximately equal blend of men and women. Chill and low ego. Extremely welcoming and interesting people from all walks of life. Ridiculously reasonable fees, especially given the very high quality of instruction. Highly recommended!“

Potomac Kempo - National Landing Martial Arts Schools

“I will never forget how I felt before I walked into this Dojo. I was frustrated with so many things school related when it came to my child. I remember going into the dojo and it didn’t matter that Sensai Jonathan was closed and cleaning the dojo. The door was open.He felt my energy, and sat and listened to my concerns. This was my first sign that support is all around me. He offered a free lesson to my child and then I had my whole family of 4 join.Sensai Jonathan has been a true blessing by being an amazing mentor and Sensai to my children. He listens to their crazy stories and never makes them feel weird for asking any questions. Also, he has a set demeanor and tone no matter how my son tries to push the sound boundaries. He shows them the importance of meditation, self control, discipline, and he encourages them when they do not feel like they can.All my children have the utmost respect for him, Kempo, and the Dojo.If you are in the National Landing area and looking for an extra layer of support, I highly recommend Potomac Kempo National Landing.“

Pentagon Mixed Martial Arts Martial Arts Schools

“I've been training at Pentagon MMA for a couple years, and I can confidently say it's one of the best decisions I've made for my fitness and martial arts journey. All of the coaches are highly skilled, patient, and genuinely invested in your progress, no matter your experience level. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced practitioner, there's always something new to learn. The environment is incredibly supportive and welcoming. The gym has multiple programs, such as Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Little Warriors. There are also different formats for instruction, such as group classes, private lessons, and online material - all designed to challenge and push students to improve their skills. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and equipped with everything you need for a great workout. Everyone is friendly, encouraging, and respectful, making it easier to stay motivated. Pentagon MMA offers classes in the early morning, afternoon, and evening, allowing students to train at almost any time that works best. Kru Vivek and the entire staff do a fantastic job of finding new ways to keep students engaged by hosting seminars, scrimmages, smoker matches, and bringing in decorated instructors, such as Kru Jom Kitti to impart their knowledge. Not all martial arts facilities offer this many opportunities, which is part of what makes this place special. I encourage anyone in the area looking for a place to train to come check it out! You won't be disappointed.“
