I am a professional Pilates instructor with a history of several hip operations in the recent four years. The most recent one was three months ago. Getting ready for the post-op rehab in March, I was trying to look for - unsuccessfully - a rehab place for myself close to home, easy access. Already somewhat frustrated, I clicked on Full Motion Life & Sports website and started reading about the practitioners there. Dr. Antonio Perez's bio immediately caught my attention: he was used to treating athletes. I called the practice. Within two hours the polite and very efficient receptionist had confirmed my insurance benefits and I was booked as Dr Perez client/patient for the few months ahead. I do not settle in for just anyone to treat me: I only have this one body that has to carry me throughout the rest of my life. I have to trust the therapist's skills 100%. When I went to see Dr Perez for the first time two weeks out of surgery, the therapist-client rapport was built immediately. I have seen many Physical Therapists and Chiropractors during my athletic life, but never have I met a therapist before, who is so passionate about what he is doing, helping people get better, finding out answers & new treatment methods, keeping up with what's going on in the healthcare/wellness/rehab field, as Dr Perez is. There are no strong enough superlatives to describe how great of an ART therapist he is. He works efficiently. He has "smart fingers", i.e., he finds the exact tension/tightness spots that help to release the tension. He checks in with the client how they are doing and feeling during the therapy, if the pressure is okay or if it should be adjusted etc. If some treatment body position causes discomfort to the client, he finds another way to treat the spot. He has given me great advice how to do several stretches on my own at home (as successful rehab is not only about therapy at the practice, but an efficient combination of both therapy and on-your-own exercises). On top of everything, his bedside manners are outstanding. He is very pleasant, and a true professional in every single way. I went to ART therapy to prevent a new scar tissue formation to build up in the operated hip, and to treat the other hip that already had started to get symptoms from scar tissue built-up, possible looking into another surgery in the near future on that side. Now, soon three months after the surgery, after regular twice a week therapy with Dr. Perez, I can take again long walks, even walk the steepest uphills, do the most advanced reformer Pilates exercises without any pain or discomfort!! Dr Perez has helped me back to normal life, life without pain, and I am ever grateful for him for that! I highly recommend Full Motion Life & Sports and Dr Perez for everyone battling with any physical issues, injuries or pre/post op, weather you are a professional athlete or someone recovering from injuries/operations. The practice is easy accessible, right off the Route 50, ground level, no stairs.
