So grateful for the lovely sleek blowouts and cuts offered by Glenda. Sooo much cheaper than the salon across the street and a better style and blowout. Gentle, thorough wash done by Glenda herself and great hours and availability. Easy parking. So glad to have finally found a great salon in Old Town that doesn't feel overly pretentious or overpriced and can deal with curly hair.

There's nothing like the confidence boost you get after a fresh fade, dapper haircut, or professional beard grooming. An excellent barber can boost a person's confidence by 72%**! The problem is: you don't know when you are missing out. There's an unspoken loyalty code when it comes to men... you don't stray from your Barber. But plot twist: Diego is actually your Barber! It has something to do with quantum mechanics, time and space, blah, blah, blah, fourth dimension... I don't have time to explain. While Diego's a new addition to MK Salon, he has been my barber for several years now. Diego is first-rate in his craft and his passion is evident. (I'm not giving him much to work with, but somehow, I get compliments after my appointments with him.) His talent is clearly recognized by other professionals, so you don't have to take my word. Diego was originally recommended by another barber. Whether I'm going for my "everyday" haircut or want to try something different, Diego always delivers! It's obvious he stays up-to-date and adapts his techniques, too. I've seen the quality of his work in his other customers as well. MK Salon is an excellent location. It's directly across the street from the Hard Times Cafe (with the iconic horse-in-truck) so you can't miss it. It's convenient whether you are wandering from King Street Metro to the waterfront, headed to one of the many restaurants in the area, or window shopping. I've only had positive interactions with other employees there. MK is cozy, but clean. Somehow, I missed MK prior to Diego working at MK. While walk-ins are welcome during his hours, but I recommend making an appointment. The MK website may be a bit confusing though. For scheduling appointments with Diego, use the website: or **Okay, okay. I made-up the statistics. But common... you know it *feels* that way.
