I realized the loss of some important papers when I recently needed to submit a certified copy of my husband’s death certificate, 9 years after his passing. I wasn’t sure where to apply for a replacement (State? County?) so thought to ask Jefferson Funeral Chapel, who secured the originals for us. Not that I expected they would have a copy, just that they might be able to tell me the quickest way I could get one. I learned the local health department is the usual source in Virginia, but ours is closed for Covid-19. One must make an appointment and take a longer drive into Fairfax City and find a parking space that might not be very close. It would be a long drive and perhaps a long walk for me at this stage of my life. An audible gasp from me prompted the kindest query and response from Aaron, at Jefferson. “Oh, don’t worry then, we go over there often. We’ll get it for you.” When I thanked him so much, he said “It’s OK, we are here to serve.” Such unusual helpfulness speaks so highly of the Chapel and deserves notice to the community.
