We have used Speedy Plumbing for HVAC and plumbing repairs for many years. Fransisco is friendly and excellent to work with. They are committed to finishing the job, no matter what it takes. Super responsive and they always have been fair on the price. Get a few bids and see for yourself. Plumbing repairs is not a perfect business, they have always been willing to make sure the job turns out well, no matter what issues come up.
Speediness = 3.5 stars Quality work = 2 stars Customer Service = 2 stars Speediness - My hot water was out 6 days. Granted, I live in an apartment, and a number of those days I was dealing with my apartment's in-house maintenance team (before they called Speedy). When Speedy was finally called, they came within 8 hours. I was told by Speedy needed a new water heater. I asked when I would get it and got an extremely nebulous answer. I was delighted when I received a knock on my door an hour later with the water heater (extra stars for you, Speedy! Way to underpromise and overdeliver!). Unfortunately, that is not the end of the story ... When the water heater delivered lukewarm water the next day, it took another 8 hours to get another employee to my apartment. Quality work - At first blush, I was impressed - after the team installed my new water heater, they asked for my mop to clean up the water mess on the floor! (thank you, Speedy!). However, the next day when the water heater was not functioning, I had a closer look. The belt that is meant to hold the water heater in place was hanging from the wall and had not been replaced after the water heater was installed. The water heater was not heating water. I opened up the doors in order to change the heating temp from 120 degrees to 150. The water only went from cold to lukewarm. (Whomp, whoooomp!). Customer Service - After almost a week without hot water (EVEN after the installation of a new water heater), I was really curious about what the problem was. The second team found the problem. When I came in to see steamy water in my sink - (which I have never seen since the day I moved into my apartment), I asked what the problem was. The repairperson was visibly irritated I was talking to them. I was told "I will tell you in just a minute, but I just want to adjust this right now." Okay, fine. So as they were walking out my front door, I tried to ask them again. More visible irritation and they flipped the faucet to show me the water was working. Dude, I know, I BELIEVE you, but WHAT fixed it?!??? I know I live in an apartment and don't pay your bill directly, and I realize I'm a woman and you may not believe I will understand the technology. but sheesh!
Speedy is the best! My hot water heater stopped working and Fransisco came out within a couple hours and spent a good amount of time cleaning it and getting it working. It took longer than expected, so he charged a bit more than he initially quoted, but it was fair. Even though it worked, he also recommended I get a new part while it was still under warranty (for only a few more months), which I appreciated. He gave me a very competitive quote to come back out and get it up to code. The set up I had was really sketchy (something the previous owner did himself), and with the recent earthquakes wasn't trustworthy. Rosenberg came out and didn't leave until the job was done (I'm not even sure he took a break in nearly 4 hours of work). Very hard workers, professional, and did everything they said they would. Fair, competitive pricing. I have recommended them to friends and will definitely be using them again and again.
