I, too, am surprised with the good reviews. Please go through any Garbett neighborhood and look at the cracks in the cement. I was told to sign a paper releasing Garbett of any cement problems prior to buying the house. In hindsight I should have refused.I was given incorrect information by the Garbett salesman about the house. One example I was told the GE appliances came with a 5 year warranty. They did not.Garbett builds to code and nothing above that. I brought in a house inspector and was yelled at by Doug S. He said it is in the contract not to bring in a house inspector. I have waited two months for a glass tile in my kitchen to be fixed. I have waited at least a week for scratches on my fiberglass tub to be fixed. I have waited several days for a broken drawer in the kitchen to be fixed. There are two windows that are extremely hard to open and shut. I have rubbed soap on the tracks like the inspector had told me to but it hasn’t improved anything. My husband worked construction for decades and said the problem with the windows is they are not true square. They were not cut correctly. My garage door broke because a bolt was not placed in the arm of the opener.Despite all of the above I still like my home, love the location and enjoy... read full review
We’ve been in a Garnett Townhome for a bit. Unfortunately, this builder seems to also struggle with workmanship. We found out a large portion of our attic was not insulated correctly, which was causing our temperature issues.We also found the sewage pipe to our townhome was not installed correctly. In order to fully fix this, we will have to shell out 12-18 grand to fix. Make sure to have someone scope your sewage plumbing or you could end up with something like I did
