“Such a beautiful cemetery. One morning, I saw two cruisers roll up on a vehicle that had out-of-state Veteran tags on it. The cops had their hands trained on their holsters as they approached the vehicle. I used to see that vehicle every now and then, and the occupant (who looked like he was of Southeast Asian descent? Maybe Laos? Like an older version of the kid who drives into the sunset with Clint Eastwood's car?) would occasionally feed the ducks and be reading books, minding his own business. He was probably trying to do some healing after doing combat in Afghanistan and suffering from PTSD. I overheard the cops say to the man, repeatedly, "This is PRIVATE PROPERTY!" "You have to LEAVE!" "You are TRESPASSING!" Then, I never saw him again? Poor guy. What a crazy world. Bless!Reply to Brandy Garcia: Oh how 'fantastical'! It was unfortunate to have witnessed such a spectacle at a peaceful cemetery. I rest assured that the community will be free of any danger while visiting loved ones on-site. With great regret, it is unfortunate that I bear a striking resemblance to the 'perpetrator' (which must explain my bad credit and employment opportunities?) who responded compliantly to the officer's insinuation that he would be arrested if he was to return. What killed me, was overhearing the officer ask the gentleman (with the strange face) tactfully, while wearing the evil eye, "is there anything in the vehicle I should know about?" other than being armed with a car full of books? To my dismay, I felt the need to leave the premise immediately to avoid further obfuscation and confusion. -Bless“

“If you have found this review, its for a reason. Stop scrolling. Mikala and Addison Funeral home are the right choice.We recently lost our oldest son, our 17 year old, in a tragic kayaking accident. Our hearts were shattered. I couldn't even function, yet the care and compassion Mikala showed us & our son were like no other. I felt like, no-strike that, I KNOW she was truly there for us. I won't say this was made easier by her, because there is nothing easy about losing a child, but her grace, knowledge and compassion made all the difference and I couldn't imagine not having her by our side through this.Her attention to detail still catches me off guard. The way she took time to listen to us and get to know our son still brings tears to my eyes. When I couldn't put together a play list, she was all over it, and it was exactly what he would have loved. I held my son's hand and was singing him a song, and hours later she was able to tell me exactly which song it was. When my daughter wanted to color her brother another picture, Mikala already had exactly what she was wanting queued up and ready to print. When we needed extra water for my diabetic uncle, she made it happen. When I came back a week later and mentioned I wished I had a picture I never wanted or asked for, she had it already for me. When we needed everything to truly represent our son and the teenager he was, she helped us make it happen.The love she showed our son in the time she had him meant everything! When my husband told her I wanted to to tuck our son in for the night before I saw him again the next day, she made it happen. When she was finished preparing him, she made sure to let me know she tucked him back in for me. She communicated every step of the way with us and had answers to questions I didn't even know I had.I hope no one ever has to feel the loss of losing a loved one, but if you do, you need Mikala in your life.“

“All staff at McNutt were incredibly easy to work with during this difficult time. Special shout out to Andrea Tab and Lilly. Up to the funeral, we reached out with questions every few days and never felt like an inconvenience. They handled us as if we were the only clients, which helped a lot in this difficult time. On the day of the funeral, Lilly was amazing in the compassion and kindness she showed our family. Everything ran as smoothly as it could, and I felt comfortable leaving my family to rest in their care. Thank you again“
