My daughter took a driving test at Garland DPS office and failed after 1/4 mile when they had her turn onto a street with no speed limit sign and they told her that she failed because she was speeding. The whole experience was very upsetting to her. Totally wasted afternoon. This is when we decided to go take our drivers test at a private facility. We called them on our way home from the DPS office and they were able to fit us in that afternoon. It is a family run business and everyone we talked to was very friendly. There are no shortcuts here. You still have to pass all the skills that you do at the DPS office, but the tester was calm and helped reduce stress instead of create it. The other thing is that for a small extra fee they will let you drive the course and they will provide feedback on things that you may need to improve on or things you may have done wrong for the actual test. My daughter loved this. I don't know anything about how their actual classes are, but if you are looking for a place to pass the driving part of your test I would highly recommend them. Overall a great experience.
