My Primary Care, Ophthalmologist, Orthopedic, Cardiologist, Pulmonologist, and Urologist are doctors at Hillcroft Medical Center. All in one building. I never have any trouble making an appointment, usually within one week although often is a couple of days and sometimes even on the same day. The staff at EACH of these doctors remember me and know me by name on the phone or in person. All of these doctors are top notch. They are genuinely concerned with my health and well-being. The office staff is always aware of my insurance and copays. I have nothing bad to say about Hillcroft Medical Center or my doctors.
I went with my 82-year-old mother to the doctor's office. She was directed to get blood/lab work. When her name was called, I got up from my chair in the waiting room to go with her while her bloodwork was done. The lady who called for questioned what I was doing. When I said, "I'm going with her," the the lady responded, "Sit down. I'll bring her out when we're done." Seriously! So many ways to kindly say that my 82-year-old mother would be taken care of (vs. "Sit down!"). Horrible! Polar opposite of caring and compassionate. Maybe the entire staff needs training on "Bedside manners for the office."
I see 2 Doctors at HMC on hwy 6. Both of the doctors are nice and listen to me. 1 of the Doctor's had a great and hard working staff while the other Doctor's staff really needs improvement. What I like about HMC is that they are on my insurance plan, and that I can do the lab work in the same building and my insurance covers it. What I do NOT. Like about HMC. is the check in process for my primary care Doctor. I have to go check in/pay in billing office then I go and sit in waiting area for my Doctor. This is a really bad process. And lately my primary care doctor seems to be running out of the room before I tell her all my problems... perhaps she has too many patients but not enough patients for my problems.
