I don't even have the shoes back yet, but I walked in yesterday. They greeted me when I walked in- one was on the phone and still acknowledged me. Then the lady who took my shoes (manager/owner I didn't ask) said hello and asked how I was doing. Not the quick, it's the nice thing to say how are you, but the kind that's truly appreciated and awaits a response. Just personable as heck! She talked me through what to expect in the heel replacement and asked when I needed them back. We chatted in between like I was a lifelong customer. The folks at Colonies did beautiful work on two pairs of shoes for me. One was a pair of strappy sandals with a totally smooth leather sole. Since there was no grip, they were very slippery and susceptible to wear. Colonies added some material with a tread to the bottoms- it was so nicely done, it looks like I bought the shoes this way.The second pair is some red suede booties- the elastic at the ankle had torn off the suede, creating a hole. I was so happy they fixed this because I love these boots and was so sad when they broke.
