Well RIP to the old Shannon's.... This "new company" is NOWHERE close to the Shannon's we use to know. We (as a family et al - parents, brother, sister) HAD been going to Shannon's for over 25 years; since I was a kid... no one in my family will ever be going back!! This new company has prioritized money over their patients (which I can understand to a certain degree, it is a business) but it has become increasingly obvious with the way you are treated as a customer and the INSANE amount of money they charge you for a simple office visit.. also, they don't seem to care about customer service at all!! This new company, is an absolute disgrace to the legacy that WAS "Shannon Animal Hospital". I had initially held off writing this review upon learning of the "changes" taking place.. I genuinely tried to give this new group a chance and give them a shot.. but now regret allowing this type of "corporate" veterinarian practice to be conducted.. I guess I'm not the only one left feeling this way, the other reviews all appear to speak to similar experiences... We have already found a new vet, and I recommend everyone do the same. TO NEW PATIENTS seeking care at Shannon's, be ready to hear their new tag-line.. "this doctor requires blood work"... (EVERY single time) for any and everything... brace your bank account also; YEARLY VIST that costs $70 elsewhere will run you over $150 if not more. You've been warned. To the company now running this place... I hope you read this; I hope you are disgraced by your business practices and that your happy with tarnishing a once shinning and respected reputation. SHAME ON YOU!! To the old Docs (Veterinarians) and staff that use to run it, I do truly hope that you all are enjoying retirement; you all have earned it!! You have also earned a big THANK YOU, for taking care of all of our fury family members over the years!!! YOU ARE MISSED!!
I was charged 2 times for the same service. I talked with the owner and she didn't care. I talked with several people and it's all the same. No answer when you call. The owner acked like she cared, but apparently not. She should have fired the employee that treated me so bad and charged me money that I did not owe. Dr Vree should go somewhere else that he would be appreciated.
I've been going to Shannon for years....Both Dr.Brown and Dr.Adkins have helped me through many cat and dog issues...lots of history there...I can't even begin to tell you how much I trusted and loved them. But as we all aspire to do they have both have retired. The clinic now has a very much more corporation feel with the new doctors...I'm sure they are fine people...but now appointment scheduling is way far out...prices and package deals are spoken about...I'm sorry but you feel like it's more about the money than your pet. Covid and their interior remodel keeps you from going in with your pet...I understand this...but gosh it's hard to send in your scared pet alone when you have no idea who and how the doctor is with your pet...and in my case they wanted to keep him all day to get a urine sample even after I provided one. I also understand having to answer questions for new record set ups...I get that...but when you go back 4 weeks later with the same issue and you have a pet in distress you really don't want to have to re answer all of those same questions again...(yes! he's still 8 years old!)...you just want them to get your pet inside and looked at. I've had dealings with both the new doctors and they do always either come out to your car or phone you to discuss treatment...so I'm sure they are doing the best they can with their situation. Bottom line...the kind well oiled machine of Brown and Adkins is gone...I think corporate needs recruit addition vets to keep up with this practice, they seem to really be overworked...not sure what my plan of action is just yet...feeling a little lost.
