About Second Chance Emporium
Second Chance Emporium is a thrift store run by a coalition of local churches, with all profits going to grants for non-profit organizations such as food pantries and health and human service organizations. The store has donated over $4 million in grants since its inception and accepts donations from Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 2:30 PM. Shoppers can purchase goods at reasonable prices on Fridays and Saturdays, from 9 AM to 3 PM. The store is known for its wide selection of used merchandise, and customers appreciate the helpfulness of the staff. They assist with loading big items into vehicles, making the shopping experience easier. Regulars often line up early on Fridays to ensure they get in, as the store can get crowded. Many shoppers have noted that the checkout line moves quickly, enhancing the overall experience. While some customers have mentioned a possible increase in prices, it is highlighted that Second Chance Emporium has recently donated a significant amount of money to the Flatonia Area Food Pantry and other local food pantries. The store operates on a cash-only basis, and some visitors have suggested that accepting debit/credit cards would make shopping more convenient. Overall, Second Chance Emporium is seen as a blessing, offering great items at prices that make shoppers happy, and many customers express gratitude toward the employees and volunteers.
The people are very nice and always helpful. Great prices and a lot of very nice things.
Made our first visit during the 1st Annual RT Garage Sale and was so excited to see such a great place. We waited until after it opened because the lines to get in were long. The staff were perfect. The checkout line went really fast. The quality of items and prices were fantastic! Can’t wait to go back
Best thrift store EVER! Great prices, patient staff and all for a good cause. Love this place!
