“Due to periodic power outages, I decided to buy a portable generator. It didn’t occur to me that I would have extension cords running all over the house. Plus I’d have to unplug things and then plug them back in with the power came back on. To alleviate this I contacted Morgan electric about having a lockout switch installed in my fuse box. The key to a lockout switch is that you have to turn off your incoming power switch to your home. This is so you won’t be running your generator AND have power going to your home from your supplier. It also stops current from leaving your home in case someone is working on a powerline nearby so they won’t get electrocuted. With the switch installed Morgan electric also ran a incoming plug that I will plug my generator into. Then I can turn off all unnecessary power consumers and just turn on the rooms that I want.
