I started these workouts tentatively for a month, but I already feel a difference and am going from once a week to twice a week. Bryan is knowledgeable and encouraging. Glad I gave it a try and looking forward to how I feel month-by-month.
Gyms are not my thing. Workouts in general are not my thing. But functional strength I have made a priority and the Perfect Workout gets me there with the minimum amount of time giving me the power to continue gardening and hiking, two activities I do love. Great trainers keep you moving for maximum benefit in minimum time. I have confidence that between the slow, targeted movements and supervised training with emphasis on good form will not result in injury. And for over 5 years that has been my experience.
I just completed physical therapy after a total knee replacement and was looking for a way to continue my progress. I had been using leg presses to regain strength and range of motion. I spent time reviewing traditional fitness centers and learning more about other programs including pilates. I was accustomed to working one on one with a therapist and at a designated day and time. I had joined another facility in the past and knew how easy it was for me to make excuses, like I had a hangnail or it was a day or time that I could procrastinate. I found the website for The Perfect Workout on Yelp while searching for a solution. I was interested in the process since it seemed to tick many of my boxes. 20 minutes? Really? 20 minutes? With equipment...at least leg presses that I was familiar with, a scheduled appointment with a dedicated trainer, someone to set up the machines, monitor progress, provide motivation? Now...they had my attention...did I mention 20 minutes? The River Oaks facility is convenient so I went for the introduction. Not your typical fitness facility. Located in an office tower with garage parking. No, locker room...no mirrors. No lines, no embarrassment. Very knowledgeable trainer...my trainer is the same as the one who conducted my introductory session. No hard sell...several levels of price points... Did I mention 20 minutes? If you think you can't get improvement in 20 minutes twice a week...you haven't met The Perfect Workout. The name is exactly what I have found. BTW, I'm 65 and was looking for strength, core and range of motion training. Please watch the informational videos...and yes...it really is possible to see progress in 20 minutes, twice a week. I'm in my 5th week and am already increasing weights and range of montion. My self confidence is increasing too...this is the right fit for my fitness!
