“We were over the moon with our experience with grooming at Jackson's Place! Paige took excellent care of our good girl and made the time to consult with us about our specific preferences prior to grooming. The results were outstanding: a clean, shiny coat, impeccably trimmed/cleaned feet, ears, etc. and most importantly - a calm dog. She even smelled so delicious that she served as a roving air freshener in our home for a few days. We also really loved that the booking and appointment process was seamless. “Ben at Beyond the Dog was an amazing trainer. We had bitten off more than we could chew with our husky-mix rescue, Nyx. She came to us completely untrained at about a year old. She was destructive, not a good listener, and overwhelmed our other dog. It became apparent we needed help to get her acclimated to our home and to our mini-Aussie, Titan. We checked many sources and Beyond the Dog was the best fit for us, as they come to the home and work with the dogs in their environment. Ben took our chaos goblin and turned her into a lovely pet with appropriate boundaries. She's still a husky mix, so she doesn't like following the rules, but she'll do it! Best of all, Ben helped us work with Titan as well, who was always extremely wary of visitors. Ben's expertise was such that he picked up on the overall problems that both our pets experienced and addressed them both individually and together. Having guests used to be painful, now our dogs are both polite and at ease.

As word of advice, if your dog's behavioral issues relate to people, you may need to have friends, co-workers, or neighbors available to stop by during your training sessions so that your dog(s) can interact with them. This service is absolutely worth it, but the owners need to be willing to participate and learn the processes that are being used for continual success.

Finally, a few thoughts on Ben and Beyond the Dog's approach for training. Ben had great rapport with our dogs, even our keyed-up little Aussie, but knew when to be firm as well. Both Beyond the Dog's and Ben emphasize positive reinforcement as the primary means of motivation. This was a major selling point for us as we're leery of more aggressive/punitive approaches to training. Ben was very reliable and an excellent communicator for upcoming scheduling as well as recapping the week's lessons. We had no shortage of resources, and still have the ability to ask questions as needed. We are so happy we chose Beyond the Dog for our pets.“

“Memorial/Bellaire Pet Lodge has been great for our pup and we started using them about 6 months ago for boarding and some daycare. The booking online is easy and getting a hold of someone for questions when switching to them was so easy. The cherry on top is that they post pictures everyday so we get status updates.
