Manuel Garcia and his crew were recommended to us by a house flipper that is a friend of my daughters. We hired them after meeting Manuel. He was charming and said they do it all, which sounded good to us as the reno was extensive for my mother's house and we were glad we wouldn't have to be contacting many different contractors. We payed him $5000 to get started. Within 2 weeks he was needing more money for supplies. The neighbors said they would come for two hours and then not come back for several days. We ordered very light gray (gave him the formula for the paint) for the wall paint and they painted them a dark gray without doing any priming first so the sheen varies all over the house and they were almost finished when we saw it. The paneling in the living was to be painted over and one sheet was supposed to be replace as there was a roof leak and it had warped. They painted right over the bad piece instead of replacing it like we asked. When we would ask him about certain things that we weren't satisfied with he would say he would take care of it. Then they did the floors. We wanted a wood tone luxury vinyl plank and they installed laminate. Again, almost finished when we saw it. It looks ok but it wasn't done properly as it is bubbled up in several areas. Then there's the granite countertops! They installed them before cutting a hole for the sink and cook top. Exterior paint; they didn't prep the surface. No sanding or caulking was done. Excuse after excuse was given why it wasn't done right. The toilet leaks as when they put in the tile in, they didn't put in the right size wax ring. The roof leaks he repaired are still leaking. We paid him $14,000 and now we are having to hire another contractor to finish the mess he left behind. Whenever we expressed concern for certain things he would get mad and disappear for several days. It was like we were being held hostage. Stay away from North Houston Finest, THEY DO SUBSTANDARD WORK! RUN!

He's running a scam. There's more information at northhoustonfinestscam.com and if you were a victim in any way, worked for him or hired him, please provide information through the site so that criminal charges can be filed against him. He receives money, starts the job and gives a bunch of excuses, never finishes the work. He keeps pushing you to the point to where you just fire him. Then he threatens to hurt or kill you.
