Rented cello for my daughter for a couple of years from Lisle. Very friendly staff. They work with you to identify a good instrument that fits the individual.They also give you the option of using your rental credit towards purchasing the rented instrument or any other. Very helpful there as well.Highly recommend..

I was welcomed by Rebecca at the front desk who was a very patient listener, Jose then willingly came out front at my request to take a look at my cello that I haven't played in many years, found a small seam crack and gave me a VERY reasonable quote to have it glued, then Madeline and Mr Lisle were also very kind. When you're not a professional musician with the nicest instrument, it can be intimidating to try a new string shop, because of previous experiences I've had elsewhere where you can be looked down upon or treated like they're too good to work on your humble instrument... This was not at all the case, but instead a great experience. Thank you.

The staff were very helpful with my specific needs! I'm a little more advanced and heard about this store in my beginning years, but never came down. They exceeded my expectations, and answered every little question or concern I had. I got to try out a few chin rests, get my bridge looked at, and also got advice on my strings for my violin. Turns out I needed a lighter material for my tailpiece, rather than install individual fine tuners. Madeline was excellent! She worked with me from start to finish, and her expertise made me feel confident with my choices. I also learned a little about string qualities and sounds, and she gave me a few name brands to try.
