I love love love love LOVE this beauty salon. Now I recently moved to Texas from New York City and it was so hard trying to locate a salon that would treat my hair and not damage my hair. The humidity itself in Texas was harsh on my hair and it desperately needed some repair. Now I am not natural by any means, and I do have a lot of hair and it is very long. I visited many a salons that would want to trim or should I say cut my hair all in the name of beauty and styling. Now it is hard as it is as a black female to have long healthy hair. So I went to Ana's without any real high hopes as I've been to so many salons that have done more damage than good. But when I left out my hair had life again. It was bouncy and beautiful. The wash and set with a "super" was remarkable. Yes I waited under the dryer for nearly an hour and yes the blow out was done by one individual which I had to wait for, but it was worth it. The way I see it if one person washes, treats, and sets my hair and another person blows my hair out then whatever. Everyone has an expertise. My hair felt silky smooth it shined and they did not utilze a lot of heat and chemicals in my hair. I have been in Houston this year would make it six years and this has been my salon of choice and the only one that has treated and helped to grow my hair. I ask for a trim I get a trim. I have even had them to add a color to my hair, because I am so comfortable with them in my hair and I have not had any adverse reactions to anything that they have done. So thank you Ana, Tracy, and Yolanda!!!!
Ana is undoubtedly really good at what she does. Her way of blow-drying is unique, fast, and lasting! Even her assistants do one well heck of a job washing and roller-setting your hair. My only problem with this spot is the overly-priced cost of a wash, set, and blow-dry, ($35 - up). All in all, I'd recommend this salon. Just be ready to spend on the overly-priced costs of this salon's services.
1st week in Houston and my hair needed help. I found this place on the internet and went there today. I got there about 3;30p, No wait. I got a wash and my hair blown out. The lady did a nice job. She did my hair pretty quickly and it held up even though I sweated off 10lbs waiting for my car to cool off in the inferno that is known as "August in Texas". I am pleased. Pricing is more than it is in NY but the reality is, I need a Dominican to do my hair so I'll pay whatever they want me to pay. I have short, relaxed hair. I need someone who knows their way around a blowdryer and this lady does. They were nice enough to let me know where there is a Dominican restaurant in Houston (Punta Cana Restaurant). Too bad I didn't like the food there nearly as much as my experience at the salon. But that's another review...Overall, I liked the salon and will be back. Next week. :)
