My actual massage did start 10 minutes late but I still enjoyed the time I had.

During check out is when I started to become disappointed with the service. We booked directly with Spa Haven over the phone and found out a 10% gratuity was required per labor tied service per person. That’s completely fine, there was 2 of us we both got a massage and a facial. Our total was $320 and I left $40. Each labor tied service was $80, just to be clear the “minimum” tip required for us was $32. My friend had the option to tip more if she’d like since I had covered the entire tip for both of us.

Having just woke up from a relaxing massage she wasn’t really thinking about anything as left. We thanked the women at the counter and stepped outside and talked for another 10 minutes right outside the Spa’s glass windows.

As we’re driving away we’re getting many calls and text each that we didn’t meet the mandatory minimum requirement, and my card would be charged $24 more. This harassment continued until my friend stopped what she was doing with her crying new born, stopped feeling relaxed, pulled out her card and tipped $24 more over the phone. Bringing our total to $64 for tipping.

I called Spa Haven back and Cadence explained she thought my tip was only for myself and my friend was still responsible to meet her minimum. She apologized for charging us extra and hung up.

Every woman deserves to feel pampered. No one who paid for service should be hounded like this. It was essentially a miscommunication but it really upset my friend being treated like she got a freebie when we paid for our service. The Spa could’ve done more to rectify the mistake.“
