Dr. Shaffer has been taking care of our pets for 25 years, and has easily been the best Vet I've ever been to. He's kind and takes his time with every appointment, and listens to our concerns. Every one of our dogs loves him and his team. While the facility is a little aged, don't let that fool you with the level of care your pet will receive. I've been to many other vets when we had to move away, and have never seen even a close second!
I've been trying to get in to see Dr Shaffer for a few years now. I just happened to pick up the phone and call and lo and behold they were accepting clients. I've heard great things about him and I was not at all disappointed. He went over every inch of my baby from her belly to her teeth, listening to her heart and lungs, checking her hips and her anal glands, her eyes to tell me those were not cataracts. Absolutely everything. I asked if there was any medication I needed and he said nope. Stick with what you're doing. She had an infection that was almost cleared up in her ear, so he told me just to stick with the medicine I was using, there was no reason to buy anymore. I was impressed with his overall love for my dog and how much attention he paid to her. He petted her and told her what a good dog she was. He kept telling me she was smiling. And I will also tell you I was not at all disappointed in the price I paid. I am so glad to finally be a client of theirs, and I will remain one.
I recently had to have my 17 year constant companion euthanized. Dr. Shaffer had been his veterinarian during those 17 years and had treated him well during that time. When it came time for the final act of kindness, Dr. Shaffer treated him and me with tremendous compassion. I honestly felt that he was as sorry to see the loss of my pet as I was.
