“Fresh after a Dallas highlight that fried my hair I sped to Austin because Micky at Swoon (Founder/Lead Stylist) is a hair health expert who has rescued my locks after quite a few reckless hair color experiments on my part. She has also made healthy hair and education a trademark priority for all stylists at Swoon, so I trust everyone she trusts to work there. I had not previously met Lacey, but booked with her as she thankfully had an opening that fit my hectic schedule. (These are top-tier stylists in high-demand, so I advise booking in advance!)<br><br>Lacey was extremely patient, listened carefully, explained everything in detail, and was both professional and empathetic. She knew exactly what needed to be done. When I walked in my hair was basically orange straw. I left with baby-soft beautiful angel-blonde hair. Lacey was also super intuitive and knew exactly how to formulate the color I wanted, even though I was speaking word salad. And frankly it was just a nice visit. Lacey immediately made my hair anxiety disappear and the Swoon environment is welcoming, beautiful, and embodies a functional design that incorporates both green space and modern art.<br><br>I pre-booked my next appointment and decided I will travel to Austin for all my future hair appointments. “I suspect that for most stylists I’m a “nightmare” client- I have extremeeeeeeeely long, thick! textured hair. I’m used to a stylist AND assistant spending one hour tugging my head back and forth aggressively for a blow dry, and have never been particularly impressed by any haircuts I’ve received in Austin. However Josh completely wowed me! I have not stopped raving to friends about his technique- I left with the best cut I’ve had in years. Not only was my result amazing, but the way Josh tenderly spent time de tangling my hair before he blew it out himself was sooooooo the opposite of any experience I’ve had (and I’ve paid 300+ for a cut before) and very very appreciated! Having just moved to Austin, in the Mueller area, I am so fortunate to have found Haute salon, and specifically, Becky who took the time to figure out a color match for my highlights and base color, before masterfully highlighting my hair. For over 20 years, one person has kept my blonde highlights and root color consistent. That’s hard to do. Becky took the time to really look at the dimensions of my color and also researched the previous products and color used on my hair to come up with an amazing match - exceeding my expectations! She looked at my inspiration photos, listened carefully, and asked a lot of questions, making sure we were on the same page. She was super adept at using a razor to cut cute face-framing bangs and remove bulk in my super thick hair. Very impressed with outcome, especially considering it was her first time working with my hair.
