At the risk of changing the availability of this unique and inexpensive local hair salon, I am going to give a big yelp to PJ Hair Salon on Walnut Street. First of all, I am as caucasian as it gets and this salon is hidden within an asian grocery and other small retailers - so expect a unique experience just getting to Suite 360F. Second, do not expect lavish decor or even a hair wash (I do not recall ever seeing a hairwashing sink) - but you will get a trained stylist to focus on your hair and what you want done. Make sure you bring along a photo of the hair style you want to achieve (if it differs from your current look) and it is best to make an appointment first.... read full review

P J Salon is my favorite place to get a haircut in DFW. It's a small salon located inside an indoor shopping center next to an Asian grocery store. It's not like one of those chain haircut places like Style America who will spend literally 5 minutes cutting your hair then have the nerve to charge you $15. There are two Vietnamese ladies at P J Salon who actually take their time to give you a proper haircut. I recommend the younger lady as she does a more meticulous job. She'll actually wash the gel out of my hair before she cuts it so I don't end up with random uncut hairs. So you could just get a haircut for $12, but then you'd be missing out... read full review
