Ms. Maria gives absolutely, hands down the best haircut I have ever gotten. I am picky when it comes to my fades, but Maria is amazing. Her technique is impeccable and the outcome is always great. So good, I pay ahead of time.
Maria has been cutting my hairs for many years. Never been disappointed. She listens to what you want. She takes her time and the service is so much better than going to any other chain. She is patient with my son and does very well with kids. Give this local business a try, you will not regret it. On top of all that, her pricing is very fair. He took me 10 + years to write this review, but I wanted to share how lucky we are to have this home in the wall in our neighborhood.
A few weeks ago, looking for a salon that did not REQUIRE customers to wear a mask, I came across Royal Cuts on Yelp. It had the advantages of being in Cypress, not requiring a mask (verified on the phone), being inexpensive, being run by former SportClips stylists, and having great (if not recent) Yelp ratings. Upon arrival, I noted that it didn't look like much from the outside... a real "hole in the wall." Tucked back behind a Conoco gas station, it wasn't even easy to see from Telge, but it had sufficient if not plentiful parking and that was enough. Inside, I was greeted by a friendly Latina lady who sat me down and got right to work, quoting a price of $10! I described what I wanted and she said, "I'll make you look good." lol Well, she did! I don't know if it was that I was the only customer in the shop at the time or it's just their way -- but she took her time, using a combination of electric shears and scissors. Interestingly, where most salons blow away the loose hair with a hair dryer as they cut, she used an air hose much like a tire shop would use! But I have to admit, it was faster, far more effective, and the cool blast of air felt pretty good. When I asked her to also trim my beard and to "give me the full treatment," she trimmed and evened out the beard, mustache, sideburns -- and even my eyebrows! A good thing as I was starting to look too much like Andy Rooney! As with SportClips, she also brought a eucalyptus-scented hot towel and added an electric massage at the end, all for a mere $20. The secret to a good cut being a regular trim after you get it, I'll be going back to keep it. Consider Royal Cuts as recommended. The place isn't big or flashy, but it doesn't need to be. The service and value are what's important -- and Royal Cuts gets high marks for both.
