About LA Fitness
LA Fitness offers a variety of amenities including state-of-the-art equipment, basketball courts, group fitness classes, a pool, and saunas. The gym is clean and the staff and gym-goers are described as friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed atmosphere. Membership prices are considered decent, and the gym is not overly crowded except for peak hours. Some members appreciate the first trainer session, finding it helpful. However, there have been complaints about hours being cut, which may impact membership. The facility has undergone redesigns, keeping some Hammer Strength machines while replacing others with Matrix and Hoist equipment. Some members feel that the new Matrix machines are not as ergonomic. Additionally, the basketball court has been converted into a free weight area. Overall, LA Fitness provides a good gym experience with potential for improvement, though some equipment repairs are still needed.
I signed up here because they are the only place I know that still has racquetball! The facility is clean and the people I've come in contact with were friendly. I appreciated the first trainer session too. It was really helpful.
I dropped my earbud into the climbing machine and asked for help — one staff member came right away, he removed the side panels and took it out. I really appreciate his quick response and willingness to help. The employees here are warm-hearted and always ready to assist. Great experience!
Have re-designed the entire gym. They kept the Hammer Strength machines (some still need repairs). Life Fitness and Free Motion pin-operated machines (which I liked), have now been replaced with Matrix and Hoist equipment. I think the Matrix equipment is not as ergonomic to use (seats are lower and not as easy to adjust). They also have a couple of Booty Builder machines for glutes. The basketball court has been converted to additional free weight area. Half of what used to be the pin-operated machine area has been converted to what now appears to be fitness trainer area (see photo). (See diagram for main floor pin-operated weightlifting machine layout.)
