I was sent to Select Specialty Hospital after being in the hospital over one month due to Covid. I was not on the vent but had limited lung capacity & was on oxygen. I can’t say enough good things about the entire staff at Select; Joe my respiratory tech was so awesome in explaining things, Monica my nurse was so kind & caring, my physical & occupational therapists did so much for me to improve my lung function and Christina my patient care rep kept myself as well as my family informed throughout my stay. The facility is super clean and the rest of the staff are fantastic and truly make the stay worthwhile. There should be no hesitation sending your loved one to Select, they are the best.
Great facility!! Friendly front desk & administers!
I would not recommend this hospital. My mother was a patient there and was not treated with dignity or respect. Staff exits a room and speaks poorly of the patient right outside that patients door. Requests to be cleaned up and to have a clean gown are at times are granted other times not. One comment was you made the mess you can sit in it for a bit. This broke my heart. When a patient is unable to get up for themselves, the call button was pushed to request ice chips. The nurse responded to the room and asked my mother did she really think a nurses job was to be getting ice chips. My mother was there for vent weaning and was 100% coherent and was very aware of what was said and what occurred. I spoke with the CEO regarding these and several other complaints. I expressed my concerns considering my mother was coherent and was humiliated and treated with such disrespect how poorly the ones who don’t have a voice must be treated. My mother was miserable there and her health declined in this facility. Sadly this was during the strict Covid no visiting time in May. The request to have my mother transferred was denied. My mother passed away in this facility. On the day she passed away, several staff were outside the door just chatting and talking and laughing just watching as my mother was dying. Too bad they were not that concerned for her while she was living. Even when she was dying the staff was being disrespectful. I thought it was a good facility and now I live with the guilt of choosing it. A few of the staff were great. Don’t make the same mistake I did with this facility.
