Let me start off by saying planning my mothers funeral was not something we were prepared to do and this funeral home did not make it any easier.1. We were promised we would get to review her obituary before it was finalized and we did not, they just posted it online and in the newspapers without us getting to look at it. It was so impersonal and did not say anything pleasant about my mother. Simply her name, where she was from and names of survivors and those who proceeded her in death. This was so upsetting, not even something you would want to keep.2. Let me start off by saying planning my mothers funeral was not something we were prepared to do and this funeral home did not make it any easier. 1. We were promised we would get to review her obituary before it was finalized and we did not, they just posted it online and in the newspapers without us getting to look at it. It was so impersonal and did not say anything pleasant about my mother. Simply her name, where she was from and names of survivors and those who proceeded her in death. This was so upsetting, not even something you would want to keep. 2. We were promised we would be able to view her the day before the (open casket) service to ensure she looked perfect. We were told we would not have time the day of the service and needed to do this ahead of time in case there were any changes that needed to be made. Not only did we have to call the evening before wondering when we were going to get the go ahead to come see her, they stated they did not have time to prepare her because they were "busy". They had only gone so far as to dress her body. My sister and I not only had to fix her hair and trim her nails, we had to put her makeup on. I don't know if you've ever had to put makeup on your deceased mother but it is traumatic. 3. They placed her very awkwardly on a pillow so that she appeared to be tucking her chin in as far she could. She looked like she was suffocating. No care was given to my mothers remains and I would never ever want this experience for anyone else. Not only did they neglect her and treat her like she was an inconvenience, they still charged us to prep her for the funeral, which they didn't even bother to do. Worst funeral home I have ever been to and I will not be returning for their services. NOT TO MENTION: one of the first things he asked us was if she died from COVID and how it was to bad she hadn't because the government would have paid for her service. Save yourself the heartache, go somewhere else for your loved one.
