I was fortunate enough to spend majority of my life getting my hair styled by the renowned Birmingham, MI stylist Bashar Kallabat who was tragically murdered in 2020. I loved him like family and even flew in from across the country to see him as I trusted him with my hair like no other. Since his death, I’ve spent years trying to find a salon that made me feel as great as he did when I walked out of the salon, but to no avail. Until I discovered Ruiz Salon.
If you’re searching for a salon with skilled & knowledgeable stylists in the Austin area who make you feel welcomed with their personalized warm customer service, then try Ruiz Salon on North Lamar.... read full review
Ferrence did a great job coloring my hair today!! I went from a lot of brassy orangy hair to an ash tone. I like this salon as well as it seems friendly and relaxing. The atmosphere is nice.
I've been coming here for years and have even brought in two referrals, so I'm happy with service overall. What I don't like is the tipping aspect. I have always understood this salon as having a no tip policy, but the last several times I've been in, I have been prompted to tip when checking out. I also recall the website used to have language that indicated Ruiz was a no-tip salon, but I'm not seeing that language anymore. Would appreciate some clarity here.
