I first tried a year-long trial with PreFix, because it was sponsored by my insurance company (USAA). Once that year was completed, I have continued with the company and find it well worth the monthly fee: The two major (included) service inspections cover a wide range of home areas that benefit from preventative maintenance, and the service techs often spot other issues that need to be addressed—long before that problem area can cause real damage. In particular, I find the two PreFix Service Techs, Sergio and Steven, to be especially competent, helpful, and professional. Highly recommend.

I've been using PreFix now for a couple of years. Because I've never been handy (and now I'm at an age where climbing into the attic is prohibited) I've always had a handyman. But PreFix is better. There are two things I really appreciate about their service. One, the standard maintenance is VERY thorough, even more so than I had done before. And two, they take care of a problem and not just the house. For example, today I called them because my A/C isn't working. Not only do I have their first available appointment (which is tomorrow), but they brought a portable A/C unit to make sure that the house stays temperate. I'm so happy I signed... read full review

We have been very happy with both the preventative services and the repair services. Prefix comes twice a year and checks on all appliances, changes out filters, checks the plumbing, and A/C unit. They have helped us avoid some issues before they became a problem.
