I just got my first crown. I went to several dentists complaining of pain/tenderness over the years, but none of them could figure out why. I switched to Lydian Dental on South Lamar, and they IMMEDIATELY realized one of my molars had a huge fracture that needed fixing ASAP. I’m still baffled by how multiple dentists missed that…but yeah. If you’re looking for a good dentist I highly recommend Lydian Dental. Dr. Josh is extremely compassionate as well. They also have TVs on the ceiling. I watched all of Arrival. 😂 Lastly, I know Dr. Josh is an incredible dentist because I just had the crown done yesterday, and Google said it could be sore for several days. I was a little sore yesterday, the day of, but absolutely ZERO pain today. Went so much better than I expected! And you can’t even tell; it looks just like my natural teeth. You can’t tell AT ALL. 🥰
Everything from booking to staff to equipment to processes were all top notch. Staff was super nice, everyone. Like the people that work there actually enjoy their job. Made the experience super enjoyable. They have all of the newest equipment (coming from a former dentist that was more of a family practice and never upgraded their equipment, this was immensely appreciated). And their subscription program for 2 cleanings/checkups a year is great too (if you don't have insurance, I guess even if you do, it's affordable is what I'm saying). AC in Austin is cold. No problem! They have a blanket if you'd like it. You get sunglasses so that you don't get blinded by the light. Decent sunglasses too, if you want to take them home with you, just ask. They of course said yes! Want to pop on some music or something on Netflix with the mounted TV screens in the ceiling - go for it! Request something or they will just throw some nice nature scenery at you. And finally comes the 3D teeth scan. Not with that gross Play-Doh stuff, but just a modern machine that maps out your teeth in real time as they move it around your mouth. How cool and painless! Dental tech has come such a long way. I'm glad someone is upgrading. And for those reasons, my wife and I will be going back and telling all our family and friends. Speaking of which... They also have a referral program: not sure if they are going to like this (happy to remove it if not), but I suppose if you give them my name, they will give us both a $50 credit - a win-win! Friendly staff and some cool gadgets and gizmos in the office! I’ve been going for the last couple of years and have always had a great experience.
