I’ve been very pleased with Dr McAfee and his staff. After moving here, I tried several optometrists, this group is the best. I wear contacts and glasses, both are better fitting and work better than any I had before. Highly recommend!
Dr. McAfee is great! So the rating is not for him. The woman I spoke to today on the phone ( I sure wish I had gotten her name) was not in the least. I online ordered the wrong contacts prescription by mistake before my prescription expired. I looked at the box I had instead of the paper prescription, which I could not find at the moment. My fault. So when I started using the new boxes, at first I thought something was wrong and I was losing my sight. I called Modern Eyecare just to ask for the number for my most recent exam so I would know what to do. She REFUSED to give it to me as it had expired 3 weeks ago. I explained that I wasn't sure if it was my eyes or if I had made a mistake when I ordered. Nope. Not going to give me my own prescription info. She was rude and unhelpful. I called 800 contacts who were WONDERFUL and they tried to help. They were more than happy to exchange the contacts for the correct ones. The woman even tried to call and happen to speak to the same "snotty woman" (her words) and got no where. But they have an online app for $20 to get it straightened out and fill the new rx. "Snotty" girl called me 3 times before I finally answered. She said I could come in tomorrow for a new exam. I told her that she was extremely unhelpful, that the contacts company was fine with an exchange and she couldn't PAY me to go back. Who needs customer service like that. They just lost a good customer.
I have been seeing Dr. McAfee at Modern Eyecare since 2013. He has a wonderful demeanor and only suggests what you need, never selling you unnecessary services or products. Arlanda (sp?) is truly bright spot in that office. She loves people, cutting up, and smiling. For this, I forgive her for that annual puff of air she administers to my eyes. No need for dilation any longer, as they have the equipment to take an OptoMap image which is an extremely detailed color image of your retina, macula, and blood vessels. It is pretty neat to see your eyes in that much detail. They always work seamlessly with my insurance and give me the rebate forms (if applicable) with my annual contact purchases. The last few years, they have even had my contacts shipped directly to me which is very nice. I'm a fan and I definitely recommend Dr. McAfee and staff.
