BEWARE- POOR QUALITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!Terrible experience!!They were hired to redo the tile in our house and 3 years later we have discovered a leak in our shower that is from original poor workmanship. Both of our bathrooms now have to be gutted and redone after we spent a lot of money with Tile Unlimited to do the work originally. They were contacted about our issues and stated they will not do anything about it since it was over a year but the leak has been proven to be from the work was originally done and it was done incorrectly.Save your money and time and find someone else!
YOU have been warned!.I have never been upset enough to write a poor review of anyone.. but Tony, Lisa and son Robert have done such poor work on my tile job that I need to provide a service to the community and call them out for their poor workmanship and dishonesty.I had hired them to lay porcelain tile on a 11 x 13 square sun room. They were to lay the tile on one day and after allowing the mortar to set at least 24 hours, to then grout the following day. They decided, against my wishes, to rush the job. YOU have been warned!.I have never been upset enough to write a poor review of anyone.. but Tony, Lisa and son Robert have done such poor work on my tile job that I need to provide a service to the community and call them out for their poor workmanship and dishonesty. I had hired them to lay porcelain tile on a 11 x 13 square sun room. They were to lay the tile on one day and after allowing the mortar to set at least 24 hours, to then grout the following day. They decided, against my wishes, to rush the job. Tony and Robert made the joint decision to grout the tile only 2 hours after laying the tile, with the emphatic promise that they would be responsible if the tile shifted. As a skeptical rough carpenter, I had offered to pay extra for them for the time to return another day (so as to allow the proper drying time), showing them the manufacturer specifications (with the big RED X stating do not grout before 24-48 hrs.)This was an effort on my behalf to pay more than the bid so as to not be put in the position of a bad outcome. Robert claimed that the mfg was not experienced tile workers like them, and that they know best, and verbally accepted full responsibility for any bad outcome. He left me a card with the business mobile number and e-mail and told me to call with any issues. I will just add that I tried to intercede 4 times prior to the actual grouting but was told not to worry on each occasion. When they completed the grouting, they immediately had Lisa send me an invoice and demanded cash or check. I asked if they take Visa, but they would only accept a check or cash. Well come to find out later that they accept credit cards..leading me to conclude later that Robert had known then that the job had turned out uneven and snakey. Tony, the father, also admitted that he interceded from afar by phone, to push them to finish the job. But could not explain why they wouldn't take Visa (which would have provided me some protection if job was not as stated) I realized after the 48 hours I was told to wait to walk on and assess, that you the job was unacceptably uneven and snakey ( I was told to wait 48 hrs, yet they could have 2 adults on top of it after just 2 hours??). I sent polite texts to contact me through the text phone #'s we had previously been communicating on as well as their Shelbyville Business phone# and e-mail that they sent me the invoice from. I received NO RESPONSES at all, even though at that time I had not communicated my displeasure with the job.. Just more evidence that they knew what the had done. Finally, I was able to find Tony's personal phone number and after 3+ weeks he finally came to look at the job. Bottom line, he stated that the job was unacceptable, that they had never done this before, and we agreed that he would reimburse me the $800 labor and $500 materials, and I agreed to pay for the labor to remove it. Unbeknownst to me at the time..this conversation was captured (both audio and video) on my SIMPLY-Safe monitoring system. Tony has not responded to my texts to up date me on payment. He told me to give him 2 days, and its been 2 weeks. Totally unacceptable. I have more details of their shenanigans, but please be advised that you have been warned. DO NOT trust their word, and certainly do not pay for a job until its done correctly. Having put myself through school as a rough carpenter, I always try to pay my contractors quickly and fairly, but got burned on this job. My attorney will be contacting them, and I will update this review once court date is completed.
