After our second class, the owner told my wife and 6 year old daughter that she was immature right in front of her, and would need to go to the level below her age group. That took us off guard, as our daughter is not disruptive, and seeing as the owner hadn't directly observed her from the classroom. The owner pointed out that our daughter was not causing any problems, but that she was just shy and not very cooperative. We thought this over for a while, and politely explained that our daughter is typically shy in unfamiliar situations, but we've repeatedly seen her succeed once she comes out of her shell. My daughters have taken lessons at NDC basically since they could walk....they are 10 and 12 years old now. They still love NDC and want to continue to take dance for the absolute joy of it.
