I'm hoping this reaches the owner of Eyecare Plus in Clarksville, TN. There are not enough words to describe my experience with this office. First, except for one receptionist who had been there for years, the front staff was clueless. It was the blind leading the blind there. They overcharged me by a mere $5 when I picked up my contacts and then illegally ran my card information for a different amount, wiping out all of my available HSA money and putting it into the negative. I should have only been charged the $238, which I had signed for, but they ran it again for $233. When I asked for them to refund the $233 since I did not agree to that amount, they stated no, I would have to return the contacts that they had charged me twice for. The $238 will not be processed until my account is in the positive. When Kim, the assistant manager, spoke to the HSA company, she stated I would have to wait and see if it processes. When I spoke to them, they did not understand why EyeCare Plus ran my card a second time, which was fraudulent. Now, I have filed a discrepancy and have to wait up to 30 days for the money to be returned. When I went to the office to discuss this with the manager, he was not there and wouldn't be in for about one hour. I stated I would wait, and in the meantime, I would let their patients know that they stole money from me and refused to refund it. The receptionist, who is by far the best employee you have, contacted the manager, David Watson, and he said he would be there in 30 minutes. She did ask me not to say anything to other patients, so I waited for David. I requested all of my medical records from 2015 to the present because, at this point, I have no desire to return to such a messy company. So David finally arrives. The receptionist explains the situation. I explained that retaining my information and charging my card is illegal. He states, "You do not have to be aggressive." Let me be clear. Stating facts and being aggressive are two different things. He then said, " I was lucky he was even there talking to me." My mouth dropped. I repeated I am lucky? That is where he lost any shred of respect he possibly could've had. I'm not sure if it is because I am a woman or that I knew the law that offended him. You see, I am also an Office Manager. There are rules and regulations. I said I needed the number for the corporate office. He then states I am the upper-up. So now he is fuming and asks if I have already received my contacts. I said I would not answer anything until he figured out this money situation. He looked at the receptionist and said, "Figure it out and let him know." I sat down to wait. The patient in the lobby heard everything. She asked if it was because I had received the wrong glasses. I said no, it was because they ran my card illegally for more money. I did not authorize it. But man, am I lucky this man is here to talk to me!! Just so you know why I went to these lengths, this has caused me not to be able to utilize my HSA funds to get my son's ADHD medication. So he comes out and states nope we received only the $233. The amount I did not authorize. He said he would call my financial institution. I gave him the number on the back of my card. As I left, I said I was reporting it to the board. So I did as soon as I left. I called. I also reported it to consumer affairs. Next is my insurance company, the BBB, and let's not forget a good old Google review. This is a small town, sir. You should be concerned you have a man in your office who speaks to people like that. So I hope you and him enjoy the hornet's nest he has now kicked wide open. I do not doubt that if you call the office, they all know who I am now.
