My barber of 12 years closed his doors permanently this past week, after some searching and googling around town; I decided to give David a chance, he was beyond polite and respectful; even allowed me to go get cash from the ATM after the haircut and beard trim, since I only carry plastic. I’m very satisfied with the result and I will happily return if my regular barber doesn’t reopen.Services: Beard trim

This is probably the best $8 haircut without a coupon I've ever had and it's such a relief to be able to walk in without an appointment last minute and not have to wait an hour.

I've been getting my hair cut all my life. You might say it's something I'm an expert at. I got my first haircut from an old Italian barber named Tony. A few years later, Tony passed away. My dad started taking me to a new barber; also an old Italian guy named Tony. As far as I know, Tony #2 is still kicking. When I moved to Knoxville, I thought for sure I'd be stuck going to someplace like Salon Azure or Ross the Boss. $40 and 90 minutes later, I'd be out of the chair with slightly shorter hair, smelling of lavender and baby wipes. Fortunately, I found Mackey's Barber Shop instead. If you're going to a barber, you're looking for a specific experience. For me, the experience is simplicity. I really just want to walk out with less hair than I came in with. I don't want frosted tips, I don't want a shampoo, and I am definitely not interested in talking to anyone. I just want to relax for 15 minutes every 4 weeks while someone cuts 1/2" off my hair, shaves the back of my neck, and makes me look less like a drifter. Mackey's Barber Shop is that kind of place. Mr. Mackey will cut your hair for $7. There's no appointment book, no products for sale, and no chance you're getting a shampoo and blow dry. This place is not a Supercuts from the mall. It's got three chairs, two barbers when it's busy, and a bunch of back issues of car magazines. In short, it's the perfect barber shop. Cash only. Plan accordingly. Open Monday and Wednesday for sure. Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday closed. Friday and Saturday, call ahead to check hours See you once a month!
