First of all American Roofing started my job in August they did not even get back with me till October with a lot of excuses but we finally started in March with a lot of promises one being removal of the old chimney. The day of service I was there and ask about the chimney removal and he stated that they were short staffed and couldn’t get it but then said for 475.00 extra dollars they could do it. But now everyone got amnesia no one knows nothing about nothing. Now they get back in touch with you every couple of months but they want their money asap. PLEASE BE WARNED DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND GET YOUR JOB SPECIFIC ON PAPER. Because I will never give no one a referral...read full review
I used American Roofing Services 10 years ago to replace my roof. I didn't know anybody personally at the time who would do roofs. Recently, I found several leaks coming through my ceiling. I called a trusted roofer, someone I personally know this time, to come and see what was going on. He found large gaps at the roof vent and could easily see into my attic. This also meant that the new felt underlayment was never installed. There was also a 2-inch gap between the chimney...read full review
According to my contract and invoice, all of the former shingle layers were supposed to have been removed and a new felt underlayment installed, yet there was still an old layer of shingles present. This also meant that the new felt underlayment was never installed. There was also a 2-inch gap between the chimney and the flashing where water had been pouring in and has now ruined the whole section of the side of my house adjacent to the chimney. Though I trusted my person I also wanted to get an insurance opinion for record purposes only. My insurance came out to evaluate it and found the same issues and also noted that decking had been used on a portion of the roof as well. Two professional opinions agreeing on the poor workmanship has turned into a VERY EXPENSIVE problem for me as a 30-year roof has turned into a 10-year roof with water damage that will have to be repaired as well. I will add that I am 100% positive this is the correct American Roofing Services located at 5718 Copperleaf Dr., Knoxville, TN 37931. The owner-operator listed on my contract and invoice is Bryan Vaught.
