“After retirement, I wanted to move to a small town for a quiet life, but I have serious medical problems, so I wanted to be near a hospital with an ER if I needed it. I was happy to find that Hartsville and Trousdale County still have a hospital, while many similar rural communities have had theirs be closed down. I have not needed to the services of the ER nor needed to be admitted to the hospital during the 3 years since moving to Hartsville, but I have been there frequently for outpatients tests, x-rays, etc. that my doctors have ordered.The staff are all exceptionally kind and through. While they do not have all of the facilities of other large hospitals, I have great confidence in their ability to provide care for the majority of my needs, and that they'd be able to stabilize a patient for transfer to another facilities for more advance care than they could provide.After they had water damage resulting from our record breaking rainfall in Feb 2019, they quickly had everything back in great shape when I needed to have an EKG and some blood tests done last week.I feel immensely fortunate to have such a great facility in a small, quiet, and charming rural town.“
