LEFT ME WITH A $48,000 BILL. Yes, you read that correctly! I went to Aspen Dental to have a routine extraction performed. At the time, I chose them because they took my insurance (Metlife) and they were the only location in the local area that could see me within the next 2-3 months. HORRIBLE MISTAKE! The first visit went perfectly fine, staff were responsive and accommodating, etc. They took panoramic x-rays of my teeth to get an idea of the extent of my tooth infection and had me schedule the actual appointment. Fast forward to the day of, and they're clearly running behind. No check up, no standard x-ray to ascertain if the extraction was safe to perform, nothing! They bring me to the back room, had me sign a few waivers, and the woman who performed my extraction made it feel as if I were having my literal skull ripped open and crushed. I drove home and had blinding pain after the local anesthetic wore off. Couple hours later, I start freaking out, start developing a serious temperature, and even begin having visual hallucinations. DUE TO THE BOTCHED EXTRACTION, MY INFECTION HAD GOTTEN INTO MY BLOODSTREAM AND I WAS IN SEPTIC SHOCK! 3 days and 2 nights in the emergency room and a $48,000 bill later and I'm finally able to recover... Fast forward to 6 months after these events transpired, and they inform me I owe them another $80 because my insurance "didn't cover everything." Awful. Terrible. Disgusting. I called their billing agency to explain to them that I was already in major debt trying to pay off the hospital bill and, after transferring me twice, THEY STRAIGHT UP HUNG UP ON ME. Honestly, I'd rather go to a rundown barn in the middle of the sticks to meet a big man named Earl with a wrench because the result would've been the same... At least then, I wouldn't have had insult added atop my injury. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! 0/5, 1/100.
