Calculating Minds is amazing! The owner is exceptional when it comes to communicating and she genuinely cares about the kids/clients/parents she serves. As a former teacher herself, she stays up to date on various teaching methods as well as local private and public schools math curriculums and ensures her tutors do the same. My son's tutor is patient, kind, creative and really accomplishes more than I could ever imagine with my son in a one hour session each week. My son tells me that she just has a way of showing him things that "make sense in his brain"! What a blessing Calculating Minds has been to us this school year! My son took algebra as an 8th grader and was really struggling with it. He needed extra help and more practice. He went from a low C at the beginning of the year to ending the year with a solid A! Not only did his test scores improve but his overall confidence increased drastically! To quote my son….. “I have learned so much this year because of the time that I spent with my tutor (Ms.Kendra). I feel ready to take on math in high school!” We would highly recommend Calculating Minds. The staff is amazing, so very kind, and so easy to work with!
My daughter (4th grade) had a C with very low confidence, (even teachers noticed in the classroom), to an A! WITH confidence. She went from hoping to not being called on, to raising her hand to answer Math questions in the classroom. She started enjoying Math! She said she really enjoyed tutoring every Wednesday! They do the best job. I highly recommend!
