AC went out Tuesday night, called Cordova Heating and Air Wednesday and had a scheduled call for 8AM Thursday. Thursday morning at 7:30 received a call from the tech aching he was on his way and would be there by 8:00. 8:00 and tech was at the door introducing himself as Hickory, dressed professionally. After discussing the issues, Hickory advised his plan on trouble shooting. I like to be in a techs space to see what’s going on and ask questions. We started on the outside unit and Hickory explained everything he was doing and entertained my questions even giving me a percentage rate on what he thought would be the problem (a leak in the A coil at 90 percent of the time). Hickory continued checking everything on the outside unit and we went upstairs. Again explaining what he was doing and why, he placed the leak detector at the bottom of the A coil (because Freon is heavy than air and goes down). The detector screamed and continued to scream several more time indicating the freon leak was in the A coil. Hickory contacted the office advised of the issue. The A coil as it turns out was still under warranty but the brand (replacement) would be hard to find as the manufacturer had been out for some time. The office was able to locate a replacement and we scheduled for a Friday 8:00AM install. Friday 8:00AM, Hickory arrives with a second tech introduced as Mike. Both Hickory and Mike began working immediately. They separated with Hickory outside, Mike upstairs with me running between them asking question and receiving answers and a play by play of what they were going to do, when and how. While working, the three of us were able to carry on conversations about how Hickory was named, Mike’s family and time away from Memphis which gave me more questions about them personally. After the install, the AC was tuned in and set to 69. Within minutes the temp began dropping from 77. While cleaning up (leaving no foot print of them being there like trash) we were able to continue chatting and both offered advice on continuing to maintain the unit. Hickory said leave it on 69 and he bet it would make it. Went to work and retuned 8 hours later to a 69 degree in the house. Better than the unit ran before it went down. I had checked during the day at a few other AC companies out of curiosity on prices for this type of repair and found everyone to be higher and not close to what my costs were. Very impressed by this company’s response, fast on time service and friendly office staff and techs. Overall great experience and reasonable pricing.
