Dr. Sam is great and a nice doctor, but the wait times at this clinic are insane. At my most recent appointment, I waited over 2 hours to see Dr. Sam. It also seems that they prioritize walk-ins over people that have appointments set, so that is partly why the wait times are so long. I had to return to have some blood work done and the wait was an hour to be called into the lab for my blood to be drawn. The staff is nice, but the wait times are over the top.
I have always had a positive experience at AFD. Generally, I will see Dr. Sam for my annual exams, he is very kind and thorough. He spends a lot of time providing education, which is amazing given how insurance companies make time management difficult for practitioners. For the most part, I present as a walk-in to see an available provider when I have an acute Illness. Even as a walk-in, I get seen in a very reasonable amount of time. Their hours are flexible. I've seen several different providers when I present as a walk-in, and they have all given great care.
Annual "Check Up", EKG and Blood Work with PA Becca Sommers! I ALWAYS enjoy my check ups...and I love getting my blood work lab results a couple days later via the Patient Portal. I HIGHLY recommend the Boston Heart Lab tests too each year because the year over year and easy to read and understand book helps me keep on track. AS a bariatric patient I have "special needs" in blood work and PA Sommers is always good to ensure all my proper tests are completed...and my gastric surgeon appreciates the thorough and easy to read patient portal post and notes for my blood work. Helping me only have to do blood draw at ONE appointment and doctors office instead of two separate times/locations.
