I have such high expectations for my first visit here, 6 nights total after an 8hr drive, so this is a hard review for me. The room was great, very good beds, all needs and expectations met ♥️. Cleaning staff were friendly. The first meal, chicken satay and pizza, at the inhouse restaurant was good. After that, it was pretty much a train wreck on two more occassions. Microwaved desert and over salted food is not my go to, so all other meals were elsewhere. When I originally booked, my reservations were set up as 3 in a row, same room, by manager to apply various discounts, and I was very appreciative of that. Apparently this message didn't get passed on, as iI had a call in the middle of my outing, two days before leaving, wanting us to vacate and change rooms! I flat out refused, told them to read their notes and figure it out! Which they apparently then did .. When I made the booking, I also wasn't informed that the spa had massage staff shortages, and that no appointments were available during my stay. This would have been nice to know, as it would have changed my booking to an Airbnb instead. Apparently this was my fault as I did not ask if there were massage spa openings or staff shortages when I booked, so be sure to! The spa desk says they don't notify front desk, and front desk manager claims they are not mind readers... Why would a first time person book a mineral spa resort, if not intending to use their services?? Anyway... if you intend to get a massage, you better be asking before you make your reservation. Moving on to the mineral pools. Yes, we used those everyday, thoroughly enjoyed them, despite sludge around the water levels and dirt on the floor of the walk in area, as it's salt. So thinking what I would tell friends? I am definitely visiting Manitou Beach again, as everything else was amazing and an awesome community and location. As for the resort, don't plan to only eat there, make sure your spa requirements are available. before you book.
Great facial at the spa!!
